The Lotus Black&Gold Collection is the biggest privately owned collection of Lotus historic racing cars and assets from the famous John Player Special Formula One era of the 1970th. The collection started in 2020 when Kai Nieklauson – the founder of ChromeCars together with Mike Gensemeyer – the Owner of Britec Motorsports had the idea to reunite all the assets from that Lotus successful period in time. Since then Kai Nieklauson acquired thoughtfully curated Lotus Black&Gold related assets from all over the world to complete the unique Lotus Black&Gold collection. Lotus not only won 7 Constructors and 6 Driver World championship titles it also started the era of sponsorship in Formula One. One of the globally most famous sponsorship was and still is the cooperation of cigarette brand John Player Special and Lotus. The famous black and gold cars not only were successful in racing they also initiated an distinctive brand image that is still 50 years afterwards well known to young and old people worldwide. Today the Lotus Black&Gold Collection consists of the 20 assets.
