History
he Lotus Cessna 414A JPS (Chancellor II) is a unique and rare aircraft that was created by Lotus Engineering in collaboration with Cessna and the John Player Special (JPS) cigarette brand. The aircraft was designed as a luxurious corporate transport for the JPS-sponsored Lotus Formula One team in the 1970s.
The Cessna 414A JPS features a custom black and gold livery with JPS branding, which was also used on the Lotus F1 cars of the era. The interior is fully customized with luxurious amenities, including plush seating, a bar, and a sound system.
Under the hood, the Cessna 414A JPS is powered by twin Continental TSIO-520-NB engines that produce up to 310 horsepower each, which are mated to a propeller system. The aircraft has a cruising speed of around 220 knots and a range of approximately 1,400 miles.
The Cessna 414A JPS is considered a rare and collectible aircraft, with only one known example in existence.
